Christmas was more of a season for us, than a day this year. Ellie and I read through the Jesus Storybook Bible leading up to Jesus' birth for our advent readings, each day realizing how much Jesus was needed in the world and how He was in the plan from the beginning. Each night during our family devotions, we also sang Christmas songs. Ellie once again loved singing Away in the Manger each night. She was even more thrilled to find out there are two ways to sing the song. I really enjoyed O Come all Ye Faithful. Franklin put up a Christmas Tree this year... our first in Bangladesh.
On the weekend before Christmas, we celebrated with many brothers and sisters in our area. On Christmas Eve we celebrated with really close friends here, being treated to a Swedish layout of 7 different types of cookies.
On Christmas Day we opened gifts in the morning.
I made cinnamon rolls and shared with the neighbors. Then, Franklin made pizza for lunch and we had leftovers for supper. We had guests in the afternoon, but it was overall a simple, wonderful day.
This year I decided to knit gifts for my family. That made the gift giving very special for me.
Ellie got a purse, which was by far the most complicated thing I've ever made.
Abe got slippers.
And Franklin got a mug warmer for his big coffee mug.
Then we took a family self portrait, which always turn out beautiful, right? :)
Merry Christmas from the four of us!
