March 2015 Part 1

One of the main reasons I have fallen so far behind on blogging is that my old system (having all the pictures on one computer and an easy way to upload them to the blog) doesn't exist anymore. We now have photos from my ipad, my phone, Franklin's phone, and Franklin's nice camera. So, I'm trying to find a new system for getting my photos onto the blog.

This post has pictures from Franklin's camera from March 2015.

There was a Master Class/Recital for Varendra. Franklin helped set up for it.

Apparently, he also went out for tea.

And while he was transporting the items from the center to the performance location, the boys had fun with Franklin's camera. :)

The master class went well. As always, my brownies were a hit. :)

And there was an extremely cute member of the audience.

February 2015 Part 2

February in Bangladesh is a month of very pleasant weather. So, on our family rest days, we took full advantage of the weather and went on outings together. One of our favorite places in town is the zoo, not for the animals, but mostly for the playgrounds at the far end of the park.

We also pass pretty flowers, so stopped to take photos.

We taught Ana how to use the slides.

The kids love pushing each other on merry-go-rounds.

Daddy helps Ana play.

How did Ellie end up already being such a big girl?

She learned how to knit. (In the front, around the back, through the window, off jumps Jack!)

Ellie read books to Ana on the roof.

I enjoyed a quiet moment with my green smoothie and my planner that I created from various printables available for free on the internet.

On our rest days, if we didn't go to the zoo, we went to RUET, a nearby University that has a big park area. We didn't go until the end of February, though, because at the beginning of the year there was a lot of political tension that turned into violence. Neighbors warned us that a student extremist group on the campus might cause trouble. Things calmed down, and we went and had fun again.

Ana and I watched the activities around us.

February 2015 part 1

Homeschooling and snacking...and Ellie is really into doing her own hair.

What Abe does on a rest day.

Franklin worked on fixing our neihbors sewing machine so I could use it to sew a quilt.

Green smoothies!

Nap time in the hammock.

We ask the kids what they want to do on their rest day. Ellie wanted to do beads, so Abe and I joined her.

I found this 1400 page beauty in the bazaar...it was recommended by a good friend. Hopefully it'll be done by year's end.

Valentine's Day.

We tried an Olive Garden breadstick recipe from the Internet. Yum.

Dress up.

Sibling bath time... One of the first times Ana would bathe without sitting on Ellie's lap.

Sewing the quilt on a rest day.

And the first strip complete.

January 2015 Part 2

Ana crawled, even though the floor was freezing.

We loved having a cute, happy baby to adore.

She adores her sister.

We went on vacation... Abe ate chocolate ice cream.

He spent all day riding the bikes and trikes that were available.

Ana slept on the beach while her siblings played in the ocean.

And played in the sand.

We went on an outing to an aquarium and science museum nearby and there is photo evidence that a mommy does exist in this family and that she has a friend... at least half a friend.

And maybe Abe will grow up to be an astronaut and convince his daddy once and for all that the moon landing really did occur.

And Ellie and Abe had friends to play with.

Friends are wonderful.

And we returned to cold Bangladesh. It was so cold inside the house that we would go on the roof in the heat of the day. This must have been when the two little ones were napping and I crocheted while Ellie played and opened pea pods.

January 2015 part 1

Ana climbed.

I gathered old clothes...

And had them cut into squares to make a quilt.

I started a crochet project for Ellie, hopefully to be done by Christmas. This flower was only supposed to have six petals... Must improve crochet skills.

Ellie lost a tooth at our New Year's Eve party!

We got packages from friends in the states.

Ana got a baby doll.

Abe slept with the horse grandpa Loren sent him.

Ellie sewed Abe a kabilato.
